QGC, Lucas CBM well yields solid seam

The Mamdal-1 CBM well targeting the Walloon Coal Measures in Queensland has cored a coal seam totaling 15.9 metres, according to a company statement released yesterday.

The well reached a total depth of 524 metres where cores were taken, drill stems tests run and from which the desorption rates of the gas will be studied over the next three months.

Tests were run over the Macalister interval, Iona interval and the Argyle interval and the well plugged and abandoned as planned.

AJ Lucas is earning a 15% stake in the well with QGC holding the balance.
