Some near well bore damage was evident by the reduced flow rate while the Osmancik zone was perforated but appeared too tight (impermeable) to flow gas at commercial rates.
Amity said this was always the risk at this interval as it had been tight in both Gocerler-1 and Adatepe-1 wells. A small frac treatment may be tried on the Danismen section to improve the flow rates and overcome the near well bore damage caused by prolonged contact with drilling mud.
The well has now been suspended as a future gas producer and the rig has been released.
Adatepe-4 is located approximately 6 kilometres southeast of the Gocerler Gas Field in Petroleum Exploration Licence AR/AOI/3648, which forms part of Area "A" of the Thrace Joint Venture and is located approximately 120 kilometres west of Istanbul in Turkey’s onshore Thrace Basin.
Last month the company successfully drilled the Gocerler-6 well which was tested for a cleanup flow. The well flowed at a stabilised rate of 6.98 MMcf/d through a 32/64 inch choke at a flowing pressure of 1,102 psi.
Participants in the well are Amity Oil International Pty Ltd 50% (operator) and Türkiye Petrolleri A.O. 50%.
