DRILLING

Acacia Grove wilts

After booming onto the market last year with several sizeable discoveries Cooper Energy is looking for that elusive follow-up well to confirm its position as one of the Cooper Basin’s most exciting explorers. Unfortunately for the young company its first well of the season, Acacia Grove-1, came up dry.

However, the well is only the first part of an extensive program the company has set for itself over the next eight months.

Located 118km north north east of Moomba and around 3km from the Telopea oil field the wildcat well has been plugged and abandoned and the rig released.

Acacia Grove-1 was drilled on a structure with a four way dip closure and an estimated 2 million barrels of oil-in-place in two potential reservoirs.

Partners are Cooper Energy 28.3%, Enterprise Energy 20% and Liberty Petroleum 51.67%.
