DRILLING

Cooper/Stuart agree on drilling schedule

Following on from Stuart Petroleum's decision to start drilling Acrasia-3 later this month, Cooper Energy has reached an agreement with its partner on a three well drilling schedule.

Cooper said it would drill Eucalyptus-1 in PEL 88 either as the second or third well in November or early 2003, depending on approvals being in place and rig availability.

While the drilling program following these three wells has not been agreed at this stage, Cooper said Carbine-1 remains the priority target. Cooper added drilling in Maribu Block (PEL 90) would be deferred until the second quarter of 2003 because Paning-2 well will be risked against likely oil prospects that will result from recent seismic survey in the block.

Cooper also advised that construction of production testing facilities for the Sellicks-l oil discovery in PEL 92 is in progress and should be delivered to the site over the next few weeks with production testing to begin in early next month as planned.

Cooper added the acquisition of 81 sq.km of seismic data in PEL 92 is in progress and should be completed during this month. The company said the data will provide additional prospects for drilling along trend to the Sellicks discovery in next year's second quarter.
