DRILLING

Partners P&A Henley well

Partners Beach Petroleum and Magellan Petroleum have plugged and abandoned the Henley-1 well in the Cooper Basin.

A number of drill stem tests recovered oil in the drill string but there was not enough flow to push the fluid to the surface.

Explorationists at Beach said they were pleased the well had found live oil, even if the end result was non-commercial.

The second DST recovered 1.5 barrels of drilling mud and 0.3 of a barrel of oil while the third DST recovered 1.5 barrels of drilling mud and 0.5 barrels of oil.
