Preliminary results from the electric logs indicates potential oil bearing zones in the Qishn S1 Sandstone (1,890 – 1,895m), Qishn S2 Sandstones (1,928 – 1,940m) and top Basement (2,322 – 2,327m).
These zones are currently being further evaluated through a comprehensive pressure testing and sampling program, in order to establish the relationship of the oil bearing zones with the Nabrajah-1 discovery well, about one kilometre to the south–east.
In addition, pressure testing of the shallower Harshiyat Formation, which was gas-bearing in the Nabrajah-1 well, is being conducted as part of the logging program. Oil shows were encountered in this section while drilling.
Nabrajah-2 is the first well in a two well back-to-back appraisal drilling program to be conducted in order to determine the size and commercial viability of the Nabrajah discovery.
The participants in this well are DNO ASA 56.67%, operator Oil Search (Yemen) 28.33% and The Yemen Company 15%.
