DRILLING

Scalybutt adds to Woollybutt field

The Scalybutt-1 step out well may have extended the potential of the Woollybutt oil field after significant hydrocarbons were detected 1.6km west of the Woollybutt-2A, ST1 production well.

Scalybutt adds to Woollybutt field

Scalybutt-1 has been drilled on the western flank of the producing Woollybutt Oil Field with an 18m core being cut and recovered from the reservoir to provide information on the characteristics of the oil column.

Secondary targets for the Scalybutt-1 well remain to be drilled in the Lower Barrow, in which the Woollybutt-3 well located 5km south of the Woollybutt Oil Field intersected a 5.5m oil column.

The JV partners believe the results from the well may also lead to higher potential in the Woollybutt-3 structure, which previously discovered an 8.3m oil column in Upper Barrow Sands.

WA-25-L Joint Venture participants are Tap Oil 15%, ENI Australia (Operator) 65% and Mobil Australia Resources 20%.
