A report said, “Initial tests showed that the MU-12 well is producing gas, the first for Kuwait, along with condensate measured at 50 degrees API. Although further tests are needed, it is still considered the first ever gas discovery in Kuwait.”

Another source stated, “The well, which has been closed for pressure build-up, is currently being appraised so further, extensive tests can be carried out to evaluate the potential of the discovery. The find, thus far, has been kept low-key until its potential is determined.”

The MU-12 well is believed to be producing gas from the Sudair formation at 19,000 feet.
