Amadeus suspends well

The well has been drilled to a depth of 11,200 feet and has been temporarily abandoned, following low gas flows.

“Unfortunately this part of the sand was generally shaly, with fair - good porosity, but low permeability,” the company said in a well report this morning.

“While there is no doubt that the section is capable of producing gas, the final conclusion was that the reservoir was probably non-commercial, without fracture stimulation. The well has been suspended, with possible re-entry and stimulation in mind.

The Mattern GU# 1 is the first well in a multiple- well gas-condensate exploration program in Lavaca County. The rig is now being moved directly to the Scheinemann South-1 location, and from there it will be moved to the Gerdes-1 location. Each well is expected to take 25-35 days.

Amadeus has a 25% interest in all three prospects.
