SDS clears final legal hurdle for multi-million dollar settlement

Drill bit and equipment manufacturer SDS Corporation has cleared its final legal hurdle ahead of ...

SDS told the stock exchange it had received a favourable ruling from the Federal Court of Australia in regard to a 'Special Motion" brought against it by Seismic Supply International and Azuko.

Justice von Doussa dismissed the Special Motion to re-open the earlier trial for patent infringement. Two years ago, Seismic and Azuko were found to have infringed valid patents for a 'Reverse Circulation' drilling innovation which are held by SDS.

SDS said the matter will now proceed to a review of damages or loss of profits which an independent expert for SDS has estimated to be in a range of $6 million to $15 million, excluding interest and costs.
