The Adelaide-based oil and gas producer said a confirmed gas column in the order of 47 metres has been indicated by wireline logs. The well is currently in the process of being plugged and abandoned at a total depth of 2118 metres.
Santos added that the drilling of an appraisal well is currently being considered. The VIC/P44 permit interests comprise a joint venture between Santos (operator) 50% and Strike Oil 50%.
