Due to strong gas shows intersected in the Showgrounds Sandstone and Tinowon Sandstone Formations, coupled with the results of the wireline logs over the weekend, Sunshine Gas said it has started casing the Overston-1 well for testing and completion as a future gas producer.
The junior explorer said a full cased-hole testing program will now be designed for implementation at Overston-1 and testing is expected to commence during the next few months, subject to equipment availability and weather conditions.
Sunshine said commercialisation of the Overston discovery will now be a top priority for the company with negotiations already underway for future gas sales to Queensland consumers. Overston-1 was the first well drilled by Sunshine Gas since listing in mid 2002.
