Novus awaits news on Gulf wildcat

Sydney-based explorer and producer Novus Petroleum expects to have initial testing results from its Gulf area joint venture Tibat-1 exploration in two weeks.

The oil and gas company said the wildcat, off the coast of Oman, was targeting 100 billion cubic of gas and condensate.

The well had been drilled to a final total depth of 3097m - 250m deeper than originally planned - electric logging had been completed.

The participants in the Tibat-1 well are Novus Petroleum 40% - operator 40%, Atlantis Holding Norway A/S 25%, Eagle Energy (Oman) Limited 10% and LG International Corporation 25%.
