DRILLING

Harriet JV spuds offshore WA wildcat

With bad weather deterring the drilling of the Montgomery prospect (west of Barrow Island), the ENSCO-56 drill rig moved to a more protected location to start the drilling of the Dawn-1 exploration well, according to the Harriet Joint Venture.

The Dawn-1 well will target a Jurassic Higgada prospect which has strong seismic amplitudes similar to the nearby Linda gas and condensate field discovered in September 2001. The well is expected to take around 10 days to reach the proposed total depth

If successful in finding gas the field would be developed in conjunction with the planned development of the Linda gas condensate field, according to Tap Oil, one of the participants in the Harriet Joint Venture, Tap Oil.

Harriet JV participants include Tap Oil 12.2229%, Apache Energy 68.5% - operator and Kufpec Australia 19.2771%
