Woodside drills two Carnarvon Basin wildcats

Woodside Petroleum, operator of the WA-10R Joint Venture, has announced that the exploration and appraisal well, Egret-3, has spudded and will be drilled to a total depth of 4,822m.

Erget-3 is located approximately 120km north of Dampier in water depth of 119m. Currently, the Sedco 703 drill rig was the cementing the 13(3/8) inch casing at 1,925m.

Woodside's interest in WA-10R is 16.67% with other participants in the JV including BHP Billiton, ChevronTexaco, Japan Australia LNG (MIMI) and Shell Development (Australia) all having a 16.67% share.

Woodside also reported that the Eskdale-1 exploration well (WA-255P) is running wireline logs after being drilled to a total depth of 3,127m.

Equal joint venture participants in the WA-255P are BHP Billiton Petroleum (Australia) - operator and Woodside.
