Cliff Head appraisal well spudded

Drilling of the Cliff Head-4 appraisal well in the northern part of the offshore Perth Basin has commenced, according Roc Oil, operator of the WA-286-P Joint Venture.

The Ensco 53 drilling rig has been moved from the Vindara-1 location to the surface location of Cliff Head-4, where the well will be drilled as a moderate deviation appraisal well with a subsurface location approximately 1km to the southeast of the recently drilled Cliff Head-3 well.

Cliff Head-4 is programmed to be drilled to a depth of approximately 1,386 metres below Rotary Table. This is the final well in the Cliff Head multi-well drilling program that has seen three wells plugged and abandoned as dusters - Twin Lions, Mentelle and Vindara.

The WA-286-P Joint Venture comprises of Roc Oil, AWE Oil, Wandoo Petroleum, Arc Energy, Voyager Energy and Norwest Energy NL.
