The wildcat well will be drilled as a vertical hole to 1,592m target and will target the Mentelle Prospect, located about 2km northeast of the northern boundary of the Cliff Head Oil Field.

Roc Oil, operator of permit WA-286P Joint Venure, said regardless of the result, the well will be plugged and abandoned without testing for reasons of cost efficiencies.

Roc also said as a consequence of the successful testing of the Cliff Head-ch1 appraisal well, the joint venture has agreed to start drilling at least one additional well following Mentelle-1.
