April spud date for Crackling South Prospect

West Oil has confirmed that drilling of the Crackling South Prospect should begin in April thanks...

West Oil said it has finalised documentation with Apache Energy to acquire a 22.5% interest in EP-341, offshore Carnarvon Basin, where the Cracking South Prospect will be drilled. The prospect is estimated to contain more than 30 million barrels of recoverable oil.

The Crackling South-1 well will target the Birdrong Sandstone, the main objective sands around 350m.

Interest holders in EP-341 post farmin are West Oil 22.5%, Apache 22.5%, Tap Oil - operator 50% and Strike Oil 5%.
