The tests, which were conducted over a two-day period, flowed water at stabilised rates of 1500 to 1800 barrels of water per day along with significant methane gas. Arrow said there was no separator on site and so it was not possible to measure the gas flow, however, the gas flow was successfully flared.
Arrow told the markets on the basis of independent test data, it has estimated the permeability of the coals between 220 to 260 millidarcies which is considered very high by world standards for coals.
The flow test was conducted over the Taroom coal package, which are stratigraphically the lowest coals of the Walloon Coal Measures and cover a very large portion of ATP 683P, the company said.
The board of Arrow said it was encouraged by the flow test results of River Road-1 and plans to carry out additional flow testing next week in previously drilled wells at Dundee-1, Darvall-1 and Dalmane-1 located in PLA 185 where Arrow currently holds a 55% interest with an option to acquire the remaining 45% on or before 2 July.
