Site preparations for the Barker-1 well have begun and the drill rig is being mobilised to the location. Mosaic is aiming for a spud date in early April. The Barker-1 well marks the beginning of an extensive drilling program for Mosaic. Following Barker-1, the company is planning a second well, Downsland East-2 in which Mosaic will have 71.153% interest with Santos holding the rest.
Mosaic has estimated the newly-mapped Barker structure could hold 30 billion cubic feet of recoverable gas, one million barrels of recoverable oil/condensate and significant volumes of LPG.
