Woodside's bid to extend Australia's biggest producing oil field at Laminaria/Collarina on the ed...

Woodside told the market yesterday that its Laminaria North-1 well would be plugged and abandoned after logs indicated no hydrocarbons.

Woodside has a 66.67% in the well with Shell Development Australia holding the remaining 33.33%.

BHP Billiton Petroleum, the other participant in the AC/L5 Joint Venture decided not to participate in the drilling of this well, which Woodside and Shell had hoped would define the northern limits to the Laminaria reservoir.
