The Brisbane-based company said once casing operations at Lacerta-29 are completed, Mitchell Rig 101 will move to Lacerta-14, the first of four one-well pilots designed to test the extent of the Walloon fairway.
Managing director Tony Gilby said the four one-well pilots in permit ATP 795P will “rapidly accelerate” Sunshine’s understanding of the coal seams in the permit.
“This valuable production testing data will complement our coring operations that are vital as part of the reserve certification process,” he said.
The Lacerta-29 CSM production pilot well was drilled to total depth and has been logged, cased and suspended after under-reaming coal seams over the main Walloon sequence.
Sunshine said production testing at pilot 1 is continuing with three of the four wells currently online following installation of down-hole, fluid-level monitoring equipment. The remaining Lacerta-5 pilot well was expected to be online late yesterday.
Meanwhile, permeability testing at the Lacerta-9 core hole is underway and the well will be completed with pressure monitoring equipment later this week, along with all other existing core holes. Mitchell Rig 123 will then move on to Lacerta 13.
The purpose of the $5.37 million, 26-well program is to move the Lacerta project towards proved and probable (2P) reserves to support commercial gas supply contracts.
Sunshine holds a 100% working interest in ATP 795P.
