The company said perforation of the target coal seam – the Chapman Hill seam – will occur tomorrow, now that the casing and cementing was complete.
At about four metres thick, the Chapman Hill seam is below the Osmington coal seam in Adina-1. Re-perforation of the Osmington seam will take place directly after the work at Adina-5.
The drill rig is now moving to the Adina-3 well location, which has a total target depth of 350 metres, and the surface casing set to 50 metres.
Westralian said seismic data indicated the Adina-3 well would encounter more Permian coals than recovered from the previous two wells.
