Three of the wells are at the Mungi gas field in PL94 and two are at the Bindaree prospect in PLA 210 (formerly ATP564P).
The Mungi program is entering stage two of field development while the Bindaree wells are the first to appraise the production potential of the area immediately north of Mungi.
Following completion the three Mungi wells will be tied into Molopo’s gathering and compression facilities for delivery of gas into the Queensland gas sales contracts. The Mungi CBM gas field is the closest CBM production licence to the Gladstone industrial market.
Should results warrant and the authorities approve, the two Bindaree wells will also be tied into Molopo’s gathering and compression facilities.
The Bindaree prospect covers 178 square kilometres between the Harcourt and Mungi gas accumulations and is covered by a Petroleum Lease application (PLA210).
Pending results and state government approval of the application, it is anticipated that the Bindaree wells will be connected to the existing gas gathering system and processing facilities previously installed under the $10m Phase 1 development programme at Mungi.
