AR Fuels edges closer to full commercial production

AR Fuels has been trialing various feedstocks at its Adelaide plant since last month to produce biodiesel that meets Australian standards.

The company has successfully processed unrefined canola oil, tallow blended 80/20 with unrefined canola, including lesser blends, and used cooking oil blended 30/70 with unrefined canola, also including lesser blends

AR Fuels said it would now focus on completing production ramp-up for both the Adelaide and Picton projects, as well as achieving design capacity and utilisation.

The company also said it had begun selling biodiesel in commercial volumes into the Australian market, notwithstanding recent legislative changes relating to excise and fuel grants.

Federal Environment Minister Ian Campbell officially opened the Picton plant, near Bunbury in Western Australia, on July 26.
