Swala Energy

Swala has requested a trading halt pending an announcement on its Block 12B joint venture in Kenya.

The halt is expected to last until July 21, or until such a time as the announcement can be made.

World Oil Resources

World Oil Resources has completed its non-underwritten pro-rata non-renounceable rights issue, with a total 1.09 billion shares now on issue.

The company had a shortfall of 141.9 million shares after completion of the issue.

Total subscription funds gained from the issue came to $1.13 million.

The directors are in the process of reviewing applications for additional new shares under the issue shortfall facility to ensure the allotment of the shares is in accordance with Australian Securities Exchange rules.

ConocoPhillips

ConocoPhillips has drilled the Pharos-1 well to total depth of 5220m below rotary table in the WA-398-P permit offshore northwestern Australia.

Wireline logs are now being run over the well, to be followed by preparations for production testing.

Petrophysical log interpretation, formation pressure gradients and downhole gas sampling have supported the presence of moveable hydrocarbons in the well.

Pharos-1 was the sixth and final well in the Browse Basin phase 2 exploration campaign and was targeting the Montara formation discovery made in the previous Proteus-1 well.

Antares Energy

Antares has requested a trading halt pending an announcement on a takeover bid made to the company.

The halt is expected to end on Monday, or at such a time as the announcement can be made.

The company last month challenged rebel shareholder Lone Star Value Investors to make a bid for the company, stating: "If Lone Star wishes to gain control of Antares, the board of directors recommends they buy 19.9% of Antares and then make a cash-on-market bid available to all shareholders at a premium."

Oil Search

Oil Search has finished wireline logging operations over the open-hole interval of its Taza 2 well in the Kurdistan region of Iraq and is now processing and evaluating the results.

Encouraging shows at the bottom of the well have further spurred the company to restart drilling in order to reach the base of the targeted Shiranish formation at around 4250m.

Wirleine logs and sidewall cores will then be taken over the new section.

AGR

AGR has won a contract to provide well management services to Hunt Oil as it drills an exploration well, and a future option well, offshore the west African country of Benin.

The scope of the work includes full well management, rig sourcing, drilling engineering, planning, procurement, regulatory requirements and operational support.

The contract carries on a relationship between the companies, with AGR's Perth team recently completing the drilling of a Hunt well offshore Western Australia.
