Perth-based Neptune said the contract, which kicked off in late June, involved the provision of staff for routine inspection services as part of the statutory compliance programs on Quadrant's Varanus Island, Devil Creek gas plant, Stag platform and Ningaloo Vision floating production storage and offloading vessel, which form the bulk of Quadrant's production hubs.
The Varanus Island gas plant famously exploded in 2008 after corrosion went unnoticed on one of its gas pipelines, sparking a Western Australian gas crisis with around one third of domestic gas supplies knocked out of the market.
Neptune's services include non-destructive testing and plant inspection, both facilitated through Industrial Rope Access Trade Association rope access techniques.
"The award of this contract further supports our long-standing relationship with Quadrant and I am very pleased that we are able to provide Quadrant with inspection support services, in addition to the other services that we have been providing for many years," Neptune CEO Robin King said.
