The integrated software solution helps energy and resources companies address some of their key travel management challenges by eliminating multiple booking touch points, time-consuming manual processes and business inefficiencies, as well as providing travellers with a single travel itinerary for all their commercial, charter and site logistics.

CWT Energy, Resources and Marine vice president Peter Brady said the solution consolidated and simplified the "fragmented process" required to move thousands of employees travelling to stay and work at remote locations.

"It provides consolidated, accurate and real-time information on each traveller and their respective journeys," said Brady, whose company services more than 350 companies in the oil and gas, mining, offshore, marine and alternative energies industries.

"Given that more than 40% of bookings made in this sector will be rescheduled at least once, this tool gives you the ability to manage changes quickly, cutting the stress for both the traveller and the travel arranger."

Osmotion general manager Andrew Barr said the tool was developed in response to industry demand, as his company kept hearing from clients that they needed to better keep track of journeys and people across all commercial and site managed travel and accommodation.

"By providing better and more accurate information, energy and resource companies can improve forecasting, rosters and utilisation of assets such as accommodation," Barr said.

"A FIFO employee may have a flight with a commercial airline, an overnight hotel, a charter flight, bus journey and then finally their site accommodation, all before they make it to work for their shift.

"This is the first time they will be able to see it all on one single page itinerary, or on their smartphone via CWT's award winning mobile app, CWT To Go.

"If one component of the trip changes, the integration means their travel manager can start rescheduling right away.

"Not only does this cut down on the stress of travelling for FIFO workers, they have more control and more confidence in their travel experience."
