Another Qld strike for Blue

BLUE Energy has recovered about 6.1m of gas-bearing Bandanna Formation coal from its Azure-6 well in the Surat Basin, Queensland.

Azure-6 is the third well drilled by Blue in ATP 817P and was drilled following Azure-2, which recovered 4.5m of coal.

The first well, Azure-1, also intersected 4.9m of coal in the gas-bearing Bandanna Formation.

Drilling in the permit targets the potentially thick and continuous Permian Bandanna coals on the Springsure Shelf that produce coal seam methane in the nearby Fairview and Spring Gully fields, operated by Santos and Origin Energy respectively.

Blue Energy owns 100% of ATP 817P.
