JV partners begin 3D seismic in Cooper

The 3D seismic covers about 137 square kilometres of the permit's southwestern area and is part of a collaborative project being undertaken with the PEL 92 joint venture, of which Beach is also operator.

Great Artesian managing director David Williams said the seismic work is an important step in identifying the next drilling targets and builds on the information gained from the Ballaparudda-1 and Murrippi-1 wells.

According to Great Artesian, line clearing has begun and acquisition is expected to start in about three weeks.

Terrex Seismic will be carrying out the 3D seismic work.

Great Artesian holds a 60% interest in PEL 91, while Beach Petroleum is operator and holds 40%.
