The company said due to the incident at Varanus Island, it would not accept applications made under the prospectus released in May 19, 2008, and the institutional bookbuild will not take place on June 16-17 as originally planned.
Burrup said it would update the timetable for the IPO and issue a supplementary prospectus after Apache provides more information about the expected timing for restoration of gas supply.
The pipeline explosion at Varanus Island had forced Burrup to suspend production from its 760,000 tonnes per annum liquid ammonia plant in Western Australia and bring forward its planned maintenance shutdown.
Concerns had been raised previously about the Harriet Venture - which supplies the plant through Varanus - having just six years of gas supplies remaining.
But in Burrup Holdings' prospectus, executive chairman Pankaj Oswal noted that Harriet operator Apache Energy had guaranteed to meet any supply shortfalls until 2030.
While the Harriet gas reserves are steadily depleting, Apache has had a string of exploration successes along the Julimar trend in the offshore Carnarvon Basin and is planning more near-field and wildcat exploration in Western Australian waters.
