“By developing a relationship with one of Europe’s industrial powerhouses, we can build on what we are doing here in Victoria to provide reliable sources of clean, economical energy for our residents and businesses,” said Energy Minister Peter Batchelor.

Victoria and NRW have much in common, according to Batchelor, including a wealth of brown coal reserves and a commitment to reducing the environmental impact of those reserves.

“Climate change is a critical global issue and if Victoria is serious about reducing greenhouse gas emissions, we need to forge strong global partnerships to attract new investment and to drive research and development,” he said.
