Central gets hands dirty in outback

The company said the survey – being undertaken by Terrex Seismic and Terrex Contractors – was making good progress in both line clearing and acquisition.

Farm-in partner Petroleum Exploration Australia has agreed to pay 40% of the cost to shoot the seismic, depending on a formal agreement being finalised.

The survey is designed to provide additional pre-drill definition on the Johnstone oil prospect and Magee gas, helium and condensate prospect, which are due to drill this year.

In addition, it will also provide data on a “large number” of other oil, gas, condensate and helium leads, including several large oil plays in the Amadeus permit EP 115 and the Pedirka Basin’s EP 93 and EP 97 permits.

Central plans to kick-off its maiden drilling program in the Pedirka Basin using the Hunt Rig 2 in April.
