Otway JV shoots 3D seismic

RAWSON Resources has kicked off one of two 3D seismic surveys in its onshore Otway Basin acreage on the weekend.

The junior explorer told the market on Monday that the Nangwarry survey in PEL 155 was due to be completed by this Wednesday, after which it would start the Benara 3D survey in the neighbouring PEL 154 permit.

“Line position and elevation surveying is expected to continue up to Friday, February 15, if not completed earlier,” Rawson said.

Hardie Energy is spending up to $2 million on both surveys, having farmed-in to PEL 154 and PEL 155 with a 50% stake in each.

Energetica will earn a 12.5% interest by operating the technical aspects of both surveys, leaving Rawson with a 37.5 % interest in both permits.

A well will be drilled in each permit in the second half of 2008.
