Karoon said the survey, due to begin late in the fourth quarter, would better define the prospectivity of structures in the block and help position wells for next year’s drilling program.

This survey follows previous 2D and 3D surveys acquired over WA-314-P and WA-315-P in 2006, which are also jointly held by Karoon and Conoco.

These surveys covered an area of 1100sq.kms of 3D seismic and 850kms of 2D seismic.

Acquired in May, the WA-398-P permit is held by ConocoPhillips (60%) and Karoon (40%).

Interests in the WA-314-P and WA-315-P permits are: ConocoPhillips (51%) and Karoon (49%).
