The event will address finance, taxation, legal, commercial or accounting issues directly affecting companies operating in Australia’s oil and gas industry, according to APPEA.
The event will be conducted in a joint plenary-workshop format to allow full exploration of issues. Sessions will cover a range of topics, including:
· Current and emerging corporate tax issues;
· Excise customs and state-based charges;
· Financial considerations arising from possible greenhouse responses;
· The Australian domestic gas market – emerging trends and opportunities;
· Financial reporting of oil and gas reserves and resources;
· Current PRRT (petroleum resource rent tax) issues;
· Issues for Australian companies investing overseas;
· Division 40 – changes to how deductions can be made; and
· GST – the consequences of various merger and acquisition arrangements, project operations and divestment options.
The event will be held at the Hotel Grand Chancellor on the waterfront in central Hobart, opposite Constitution Dock. The hotel has views over the Derwent River, Mt Wellington and the city.
