The Worrior-6 well will be drilled in the south-west corner of the Worrior field about 200m west of Worrior-1 to confirm the latest depth map that showed an enlarged crest of the Hutton structure.
It also targets the Birkhead formation and the McKinlay Member of the Murta formation.
"Worrior-6 will provide an additional drainage point for the current reserves in the Hutton reservoir in the west of the field, and will also address the potential for additional reserves through a possible extension of current field limits.
"The well should also provide access to existing Birkhead and McKinlay reserves in the southwest of the field."
Meanwhile, operations at Worrior-5 have been suspended since August 22 pending repairs to the rig. Worrior-5 is targeting the McKinlay and Birkhead reservoirs in order to provide a northern drainage point in the Worrior Oil field which is expected to increase the field reserves and production.
The Worrior partners are Stuart 70% and Cooper 30%.
