Ferguson Seacabs arrives in Australia

The Ferguson Group’s Australian subsidiary, Ferguson Seacabs Pty Ltd, will be based in Perth, Western Australia with two strategically located operational bases in Dampier and Darwin, according to locally based general manager Carol Pearce.

Manufacturing of a complete range of units for the Australasian market is already underway. Pearce said this would see Ferguson Seacabs become the only dedicated provider of DNV 2.7-1/BS EN 12079 certified specialist offshore equipment in Australia, offering a complete hire service including maintenance, testing, inspection and online asset tracking system for customers.

The growing Australasian oil and gas market will become a very important region for Ferguson, according to group managing director Steven Ferguson.

“The investment in new products to specifically meet the requirements of this sector demonstrates our commitment to Australia,” he said.

“Over the past two years, we have enjoyed an unprecedented period of growth across the group due to the buoyant marketplace, and have seen a continued increase in the internationalisation of the business with many new major contracts secured. Today we have over 8000 containers, tanks and baskets available for hire from many locations around the world including Scotland, Norway, Denmark, Caspian, Africa, Trinidad, UAE and now Australia.”

The start-up of Ferguson Seacabs Pty Ltd is not the only recent change within the Group.

The former offshore accommodation and workspace module division of Ferguson Seacabs Ltd was incorporated on January 31 as Ferguson Modular, giving the Ferguson Group four subsidiary companies – two in the UK, one in Norway and one in Australia.
