Oil shows at Acrasia-4

STUART Petroleum reports several oil shows at its Acrasia-4 well in the Cooper Basin but the firs...

The company has drilled through the top Hutton sand but DST-1, run over the interval 2042-2047.5m to evaluate oil shows in lower Hutton sand not previously tested, has misrun due to packer seat failure.

“Testing on this zone will be decided by the results of wireline logs to be run at total depth,” Stuart said.

Drilling will progress to the Poolowanna Formation, the second appraisal target, which will be evaluated by a DST, if warranted by oil shows.

“Encouraging shows were noted while drilling the primary targets, the lower Birkhead and upper Hutton sands,” Stuart said.

“These zones may not be tested prior to completion and will further be evaluated with wireline logs after drilling to total depth.”

This morning Acrasia-4 was at 2047.5m, drilling towards 2350m.

The well is located 160m east of Acrasia-1 in PEL 90/PPL 203.

Participants in the well are Stuart Petroleum (operator) 75% and Beach Petroleum (via Mawson Petroleum Pty Ltd) 25%.
