Nido founder moves on

NIDO Petroleum founder and current chairman Charlie Morgan has resigned from the Philippines-focused producer. Non-executive director Gregor Dixon will act as chairman of Nido until a replacement is found.

A Nido statement yesterday said Morgan was one of the founders of the company (originally SOCDET) and had made a tremendous contribution toward the development of the company.

“Under his leadership, Nido is positioned for success with a strong management team and a valuable asset base,” said managing director David Whitby.

"It has been an honour and privilege to work with him and I wish him the best in the new ventures he has undertaken.”

Morgan’s resignation is effective immediately. He is chairman of new float Alto Energy, which has US shale gas interests.
