Thiess Kentz Engineering and Constructors will operate from offices in Brisbane and Perth, and will combine the specialist expertise of both companies.

The JV opened up a new market for the Kentz Group, said chief executive officer Hugh O’Donnell.

“With the future development of major projects in Australia and the Pacific region, the synergy between Kentz and Thiess will see the introduction of new contracting options for our clients, including a single direct point turnkey contract model as an alternative to traditional subcontracting roles,” he said.

Thiess Process is a division of Thiess, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leighton Holdings. It has an annual turnover of more than $2 billion.

Kentz Group is a privately owned specialist engineering and construction company operating in 21 countries.
