The concerted action was facilitated through the Burrup Industries Forum, convened through the CCI.

The National Trust has lodged its emergency nomination believing there was an immediate threat to the Aboriginal heritage values of the area from the numbers of industrial developments planned for the area.

It now has withdrawn its emergency nomination after acknowledging there was a nomination currently going through the correct procedure and there was minimal likelihood of further damage in the next 12 months.

It also acknowledged that an emergency nomination would not allow for fuller consultation.
