The encompassing EPC contract covers the development of the project's gas well pads, flowlines and pipelines.

It also included the building of a central processing plant of 672 million cubic metres of gas per annum capacity, along with associated gas treatment facilities.

The project aims to pipe sweet gas from this Matindok central processing facility to the 2.1 million tonnes per annum capacity Donggi Senoro liquefied natural gas plant, which is expected to start exports next year.

Technip said its local partner WIKA will carry out construction and procurement of major items.

"We are delighted to be renewing our ties with our client Pertamina and supporting them in bringing the Matindok field onstream," Technip Asia Pacific president K K Lim said.

"Technip's proven track record in delivering EPC contracts will ensure that the project is delivered to the highest standards of safety and quality."

The project is targeting completion in the first half of 2016.

Technip did not reveal the price tag of the EPC work.
