Hallin kicks off Bay of Bengal job

It will be providing the subsea operations vessel Ullswater with survey, air diving and marine crews. Subsea 7 will provide flexible and umbilical-laying equipment and construction crew.

The 78m-long by 20.4m-wide Ullswater incorporates a 15-man saturation diving system capable of operating in 200m depth, along with a three-man moonpool-launched diving bell.

The vessel is fully equipped for wellhead servicing, inspection and construction diving as well as installation support.

It can accommodate up to 120 personnel.

The project is expected to take three months and is in the G1 deepwater region of the G1-GS15 offshore production field.

This was the third campaign in the region and Hallin was involved with Campaign 2 last year.

After China, India has the second-largest proven oil reserves in the Asia-Pacific region.

Most of India's crude oil reserves are located around the western coast and in the northeastern parts of the country.

Considerable reserves are located in the offshore Bay of Bengal.
