Bad weather delays seismic surveys: Nido

A fortnight ago the Perth-based junior said damaged trailing equipment had prompted the CGG Veritas’ Pacific Sword vessel to stop shooting 2D seismic in its SC 63 permit.

On Friday Nido confirmed that the trailing equipment had been repaired, but “unfavourable weather” had prevented operations from restarting on the survey, which is 63% complete.

Poor weather also held up work in SC 58, involving the acquisition of 661 square kilometres of 3D and 2350km of 2D seismic. This survey is 31% complete.

Despite the hold-ups, Nido expected both surveys to start again over the weekend.
