With a letter of intent awarded and a formal contract to be issued soon, PCH has started sending personnel and equipment to the AMEC-led ATA consortium fabrication yard.
The PCWU is the second of two topsides being constructed for phase 3 of the ACG Full Field Development project, of which PCH has secured 100% of the work, including the drilling, utiltities and quarters (DUQ) topsides and two supporting jacket structures.
“We have work on hand until late 2007 and have a large and sustainable regional contracting business, in addition to other Caspian work we are pursuing,” said PCH offshore director, Craig Dunn.
In other developments, PCH said it had secured a 12-month contract for combined formwork and scaffolding services on BHP’s new car dumper facility in Port Hedland and had also received a multi-year extension to its maintenance contract at a West Australian refinery.
PCH earns more than half its revenue from overseas oil and gas projects.
