MCDERMOTT International subsidiary PT McDermott Indonesia has won a contract for the fabrication of three tripod jackets for Thailand’s third transmission pipeline project.

Under the contract, reportedly worth over US$12m, PTMI will fabricate one jacket weighing about 4500 tonnes (including the eight piles), two tripods each weighing 890 tonnes, and two bridges weighing 435 tonnes for project operator Thailand’s PTT Exploration and Production Public Company (PTTEP).

Project work has already started at the company’s Indonesian fabrication facility on Batam Island and is scheduled for completion early next year.

J Ray McDermott Asia-Pacific general manager Steven Roll said his company was pleased to work with Italy oilfield equipment maker Saipem (which is controlled by energy group ENI) and PTTEP.
