The Yonhap news agency, citing an anonymous police officer from the Pyeongtaek Police Station, reported, “The explosion took place at 5:10 pm when the workers were supplying fuel to a plastic tank from a five-ton oil tanker at Neo Energy Korea in Pyeongtaek.”
“The two South Korean workers, identified as Choi Kyung-il, 34 and Kim Dae-kyung were killed on the spot. The Pakistanis were identified only as Ali, 29 and Pashal, 23.
The injured, one South Korean and two Pakistanis, were immediately sent to a nearby hospital, but the Pakistanis are in critical conditions. The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation,” added the officer.
