According to the insider, “Indian Oil Corp and Nepal Oil Corp [will] sign a pact during the current visit of Nepali Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba to New Delhi. The trip is [also] aimed at seeking more help from giant neighbour India to crush the Maoist rebellion.”
“The 35 km pipeline, estimated to cost 350 million rupees (US$7.6 million), [will] start from Bihar and [will] take the load off road tankers used to transport oil products to Nepal,” added the informant, referring to an incident last month where Maoist guerrillas cut off petroleum supplies to Kathmandu via a highway blockade.
