Indian authorities: pipe laggards “show cause” or lose it

According to the Indian Petroleum Ministry, “If satisfactory replies are not immediately received [from GTICL), a proposal for de-notifying the Right of Usage (ROU) will be moved.”

“GTICL has already been told to resume the ROU acquisition work for the Kakinada-Hyderabad-Goa pipeline, subject to the condition that it will have to build 25% extra capacity to be made available on open access basis,” it said.

“[And] for the Hyderabad-Uran-Ahmedabad pipeline route, the ministry [has] asked GTICL to publish the proposal inviting capacity booking from interested parties within a period of two months from the date of publication,” added the Ministry.
